Abandoned Oil Shale Mine

A few weeks ago I visited an abandoned oil shale mining site in the Wolgan Valley, located in the Central Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia. The site was operational in the early 20th century and is now completely surrounded by the Wollemi National Park. The Settlement was originally built in 1906 by the Commonwealth Oil Corporation.
