Sydney’s Light Pollution

The city of Sydney 100km west on the eastern coast of Australia obscured by the canyon walls on the left, glows brightly in the sky in an otherwise clear moonless night. Smaller towns beyond the mountains in the distance also glow but not as bright. Today you will need to travel at least another 300km west to find truly dark skies. In another 100 years who knows how much further we’ll have to go.
