Taken tonight in the Royal National Park south of the city of Sydney, Australia.
Just by chance last night I noticed in my astro app that Mars was going to be in conjunction with the moon. Taking this shot was no easy feat, in-fact far more difficult than any of my Milky Way photos. With the moon being so bright and mars being so faint, finding the right balance for aperture and exposure was very tricky, having the clouds coming in and out of frame made it even trickier as the light metering kept changing, resulting in underexposed and overexposed photographs. However when I saw this capture on the back of my camera I knew I had it 🙂 big smiles 🙂
